The 2011 Fall Conference offers two general sessions and 32 breakout sessions, along with a trade show and many excellent networking opportunities. The Centering Corporation bookstore also will return this year.
Kicking things off on Wednesday will be Rev. Kathleen Rusnak, former hospice chaplain and founder and president of The Brick Wall 2. Rusnak will be speaking about the spiritual journey many undergo at the end of life.
Education sessions this year have been selected based on four tracks: Palliative Care, Leadership Development, Clinical Care and Soft Sciences including social work, bereavement, volunteer coordination, etc. Education session topics include measuring outpatient palliative care, NHPCO staffing guidelines, peer bereavement support services and basic pain management.
The closing keynote on Thursday will be presented by David Naster. Naster is a comedian who has just released a documentary film on why he believes we have to laugh through our toughest times. He will present an uplifting closing keynote on using humor to cope with the end of life.
This will definitely be a Fall Conference you don’t want to miss!
