HPCAI Hospice Day on the Hill will be held Tuesday, March 3, and is an important grassroots event for your hospice and palliative care professionals and volunteers. It provides an opportunity to learn about issues facing legislators at the Capitol and to advocate in person with YOUR legislators.
Hospice and palliative care have long been viewed as models for quality, compassionate care for people facing a life-limiting illness and injury. Bringing advocates to the Capitol to personally tell the story of hospice and palliative care to Iowa’s legislators is one of the most important things we can do to ensure all Iowans continue to have access to this care when it is needed.
The day will begin at the HPCAI offices at 100 E. Grand Avenue at noon. Advocates will have a short issue briefing at HPCAI (lunch will be provided) before heading to the Capitol to meet with local legislators. The topics for this year’s Hospice Day on the Hill will revolve around the hospice room and board pass through payments, nursing facility coverage for individuals on the Iowa Health and Wellness Plan, as well as standardizing Medicaid prior authorizations for hospice care.
Additionally, you will receive a $25 discount on your registration for the Special Topics Conference on June 24 if you attend the Hospice Day on the Hill. Make plans now to join other advocates at HPCAI Hospice Day on the Hill!
